High-performance, economical firestop material that effectively stops the spread of fire and smoke at through-penetrations.
FIRECODE Compound Powder are economical firestopping products for use in large-scale jobs with varying penetrations. They are effective in numerous UL systems for through-penetrations and head-of-wall applications in USG™ Fire Stop Systems.
With FIRECODE Compound, mix only what you need, quickly and easily with water, at the jobsite. You can change the consistency of the compound to suit the application at hand. Each batch yields approximately 75 minutes of working time, and the compound sets in 2-3 hours. Several applications can be made from each batch.
The compound is non-toxic and free from silicones, solvents, halogens, PCB’s, asbestos, and inorganic fiber. It is auto-bonding and will bond to cured compound, a big advantage when making repairs. It bonds to concrete, metals, wood, and cable jacketing, without the use of primers.
FIRECODE Compound dries to a red color that is easily seen and identified by fire marshals. Once dry, it may be sanded smooth and painted with either latex or oil-based paints.
The compound is UL-classified in accordance with ASTM E84 (ANSI/UL 723), ASTM E814 (ANSI/UL 1479), ULC-S115, and ASTM E1966 (ANSI/UL 2079).
