For the roof of the luxury Daybreak Apartments in South Jordan, Utah, the roofing contractor selected a GAF Materials Corporation’s mechanically attached 60 mil TPO membrane over USG Corporation’s 1/4" SECUROCK® Glass-Mat Roof Board. The contractors were confident the system would stand up to the cold winters and hot summers in Utah, and both manufacturers had a proven track record of providing the best product for the money.
The apartments are wood framed, requiring a fire barrier. The SECUROCK® Glass-Mat Roof Board met all necessary fire ratings, plus it enhanced the durability of the entire roofing system and offered the highest score for mold resistance on ASTM D3273. The contractors were very happy to hear from installers about the workability and ease of cutting the product.
Flying into Salt Lake City, west of the valley, you can see the huge apartment complex with the gleaming white Energy Star roof that is protected by materials of USG Corporation and GAF Material Corporation.
