Disney Cruise Line Terminal Project Profile

For Disney Cruise Lines, creating a carefully executed, thematic vacation experience involves all points of engagement with its passengers, including its new 70,000-sq.-ft., bi-level terminal in Coral Gables, Florida. Responsible for designing a space to seamlessly deliver passengers to and from Disney's cruise ships, architects were required to incorporate high-strength materials capable of controlling heavy foot traffic with the dazzling aesthetic appropriately reflective of the company's corporate philosophy.

To get the job done, contractors enlisted multiple USG products to create custom-designed, maritime-themed architectural features, including the entryway's lowered ceiling, which is finished by 24,000 sq. ft. of sky-blue SANDRIFT™ Ceiling Panels and DONN® Brand DX® Suspension System, giving passengers a stunning sand-blown experience from the moment they set foot inside.

The result? USG products showcased their customizable and high-performance nature in this truly unique, large-scale construction for a client serious about the smallest detail and the grandest story.
