USG and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) share a common focus—a focus on high performance. For USG, it’s bringing high-performance sustainable building solutions to customers to build outstanding spaces. For the USOC, it’s supporting Olympic and Paralympic athletes, which includes providing them with access to the best facilities that enable high performance. The partnership brought USG and the USOC together to create a building designed for the country’s best athletes to train in—the Ted Stevens Sports Services Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
The greatest challenge of the build was controlling noise from space to space due to the very different uses and activities going on in the same building. USG Mars™ ceiling tiles were the answer to the problem. They feature a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of .70, meaning they absorb 70% of the noise in the room.
Acoustics, Energy and No VOCs USG Mars™ celing tiles feature excellent noise reduction (NRC .70) and provide a high light-reflective finish that reduces energy use. They are the only celing panels available without any Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and are exclusive to USG.
