Structural Panel Concrete Subfloor is a cured-in-factory panel that is noncombustible, inorganic, mold-, moisture-, termite-resistant and dimensionally stable floor assembly suitable for many floor finishes. This Structural Panel can be used in mid-rise, modular, mezzanine, theater and other applications, providing the structural stability as well as other benefits such as design flexibility. Meets ASTM E136-16 for all types of noncombustible construction.

    A: Bare floor = min. STC 54 with G556 or H505 on 10" o.c. C-Joist; attainable value over a range of floor covering:

    The following acoustic ranges of STC/IIC values are available.

    • Premium STC 55 / IIC 55 and higher

  • Are all panels equivalent to USG Structural Panel?

    A: No. USG Structural Panel is the only UL-certified noncombustible cementitious panel in North America. USG Structural Panel offers the simplest 2-hour floor/ ceiling fire assembly which saves time and money.

  • Will USG Structural Panel meet code requirement?

    A: USG Structural Panel is compliant with the 2012, 2015 and 2018 IBC.

  • Is there a UL fire-rated system with USG Structural Panel?

  • Can the USG Structural Panel be left bare?

    A: No, must be covered and protected from traffic wear.

  • What are the common applications for USG Structural Panels?

    A: Subfloor is typically used in midrise buildings, health facilities, theaters, hotels, residential buildings and homes, multipurpose midrise buildings, panelized construction or in simple platforms or mezzanines. It is also used as the lightweight floor in permanent modular construction.

    Foundation Wall can be used for foundation renovation or new building foundation construction, full-height basements, storm shelters, crawl space, and cellars.

  • What floor coverings can be used over USG Structural Panel Concrete Subfloor?

    A: A variety of floor coverings can be used but an engineered underlayment is recommended over the panel except with carpet and pad.

  • What can be used as an underlayment?

    A: USG recommends min. 1/4" USG Fiberock® Brand Underlayment board or 3/4" depth pour of USG Levelrock® Brand 2500.

  • As a structural wall panel, is USG Structural Panel good for blast protection?

    A: Yes, when mounted on one side of 6" wall studs at 16"o.c., USG Structural Panel can attain GSA level ‘C’ protection (4psi blast pressure, 28psi-ms maximum blast impulse). If USG Structural Panel is mounted on both sides of the wall 6" stud at 16"o.c., USG Structural Panel can attain GSA level ‘D’ protection (10psi maximum blast pressure and 89psi-ms maximum blast impulse).

    A: USG Structural Panels are a portfolio of three products: Subfloor, Roof Deck and Foundation Wall. These cured-in-factory 3/4" panels are high-strength, fiberglass reinforced concrete panels for use in noncombustible construction. The panels are certified noncombustible by Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) in accordance with the current version of ASTM E136. Taking the place of traditional poured concrete & metal deck in cold-formed steel framing, USG Structural Panels are a lighter & easier solution, requiring only the basic carpentry tools for installing these panels.
