Extended Health Care

Our extended health plan is designed to provide coverage for most health care expenses not covered by provincial health care plans such as prescription drugs, eye exams, prescription eyewear, and paramedical professional services.

Dental Care

Our dental plan is designed with a special emphasis on preventative care. It also covers major dental work such as fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, oral surgery, orthodontia and dentures.

Short Term Disability

Short term disability coverage is provided at no cost to the employee. These plans provide income protection for up to six months during periods of illness and disability.

Long Term Disability

Employees can elect this coverage to provide income protection in the event of extended illness or disability that lasts beyond six months. 

Basic Life Insurance

Basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance is provided at no cost to the employee.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Supplemental life insurance offers additional life and accidental & dismemberment insurance protection.

Retirement Plan

The CGC Retirement Plan is designed to provide a monthly income benefit for life based on your pay, age and years of benefit service with the Company. The plan is a contributory defined benefit plan with full vesting after two years participation.

Investment Plan

The Investment Plan is a defined contribution plan with options to contribute to a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and/or a non registered savings plan. Employees may invest 1% to 15% of their compensation in any of the investment options. Participants earn a company match of 25% on a portion of their contributions. Employees are immediately vested in Company Matching.

Incentive Plans

Every CGC employee participates in one of the Corporation or subsidiary incentive plans. The purpose of these plans is to enhance the spirit of teamwork and to further encourage employees to contribute to and share in the positive performance achievements of the company. Cash payments based on target achievement are earned quarterly or annually, depending upon the plan.

Vacation & Holidays

Employees enjoy from three weeks to six weeks paid vacation based on their length of continuous service.  CGC observes eleven paid holidays annually.
