Acoustical Performance Data

All sound testing of USG acoustical ceilings is conducted at the USG Corporate Innovation Center Acoustical Test Facility, which is accredited under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP Lab Code: 200132-0).

Testing of acoustical materials is conducted under the UL Client Data Test Program. All acoustical data are representative of each product family listed.

Sound Absorption

All sound absorption tests are conducted according to ASTM C423. The ceiling panels are tested in the E400 mounting, per ASTM E795.

The absorption coefficients and published NRC ratings for our "flagship" products are shown below for your reference to compare performance at specific frequency ranges and to assist with calculations and acoustical modeling programs.

Sound Attenuation

All sound attenuation tests for acoustical ceiling panels are conducted according to ASTM E1414 using type CE mounting (continuous at partitions, Exposed suspension system) and classified for CAC per ASTM E413.

The transmission loss data and published CAC ratings for our "flagship" products are shown below for your reference to compare performance at specific frequency ranges and to assist with calculations and acoustical modeling programs.
