Drywall Suspension System

The USG Drywall Suspension System is a pre-engineered cost saving alternative to traditional carrying channel and hat channel for framing flat or curved drywall ceilings and soffits. The system is fully compatible with all USG DONN acoustical suspension systems. Over 60 UL fire-rated designs with design flexibility meet life safety codes, and the system meets or exceeds load compliance specifications per ASTM C635.

DONN acoustical and drywall suspension systems have the highest average recycled content in the industry. In fact, many of the components are available with High Recycled Content (HRC). HRC suspension components are classified as containing over fifty percent total recycled content. Total recycled content is based on product composition of post-consumer and pre-consumer (post-industrial) recycled content per FTC guidelines. Look for the green symbol on data pages to quickly identify HRC components.

This unique, pre-engineered system can reduce installation costs up to 40-percent versus conventional cold-rolled channel or steel stud drywall ceiling installations. It also allows for easy transitions in ceiling elevations and between ceiling types, while ensuring correct installation and the highest quality finished surface. Its hot-dipped, galvanized system is suitable for interior and exterior application.

Interior corridors, up to 8’ wide, can be framed using the Wall-to-Wall Drywall Suspension components, without hanger wire or other supports at mid-span. Drywall barrel vaults, archways, valleys, waves, serpentines, and domes all have the flexibility to easily transition to flat ceilings, soffits, and acoustical ceiling suspension systems. All main tees (straight and curved) can be field cut to specific lengths. The system easily accommodates type "F" light fixtures (and board joints surrounding these fixtures) and type "G" lay-in fixtures.
