Shelly Green
Chief People Officer
Shelly Green brings nearly 30 years of dedicated service to USG, culminating in her current role as chief people officer. A champion for creating a supportive and empowering workplace, Shelly oversees all aspects of human resources, including human resources operations, employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, corporate communications and the USG Foundation.
Shelly's journey began in 1994 within the Human Resources team at USG Interiors. Over the following 26 years, she held various roles, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations and its most valuable strength—its people. Her expertise encompasses key areas such as business partnership, talent acquisition, training and development, performance management and change management.
Before returning to USG as chief people officer in 2022, Shelly served as vice president and chief human resources officer at UGN, Inc., a leading manufacturer in the automotive industry. This experience broadened her leadership perspective and provided valuable insights into developing effective HR strategies for diverse organizations.
Shelly holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She is dedicated to fostering excellence within the HR field and serves as an Advisory Council Board member for the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago. Shelly resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and two children
