International Airport Expansion Covered by High-Performing, Lightweight Roof Board
The Chicago O’Hare International Airport is expanding its international terminal by 200,000 square feet to increase capacity for international flights. The biggest challenge with any airport construction is that it takes place while aircraft are continuously taking off and landing. Increased security measures require shorter construction timelines and crews have to work fast. And because it's a large-scale airport expansion, the project called for a roof board that increased durability, provided the required fire resistance, served as a thermal barrier, and could withstand high wind speeds. That’s why the USG Securock® Brand UltraLight Coated Glass-Mat Roof Board was the perfect fit for this project. It is durable, fire-resistant, FM-approved, and up to 18% lighter than competitive boards, making for a faster, easier install.
