Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Year Built: 2017
Architect: Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA)
"The project won the Daily Reporter Top Project 2017 and two Milwaukee Business Journal Real Estate Awards."
When leading distributor of shipping supplies, ULINE, decided to build a new headquarter and distribution center, they tapped architects Eppstein Uhen. EUA was tasked with master planning the consolidation of the corporate headquarters and the distribution center, that previously spanned over four buildings, into one building.
Because of the various functions of the building, many challenges with sound and durability arose. The design balances gathering spaces with expansive glass windows, a high-ceilinged cafeteria, and extensive wood and masonry features. To help reduce noise, EUA used USG’s ceiling products which offer esthetically pleasing bright, white surface and balanced acoustical properties. The Frost™ Basic Acoustical Ceiling Panels and Mars™ Acoustical Panels feature excellent noise reduction, which was important when designing a building with such vast features.
