Fire-Rated Assembly Repair
To repair fire-rated assemblies, the repair must use like materials in order to restore the assembly back to the original condition. 5/8” USG Sheetrock® Brand Patch & Repair Panels are Type X panels and can be used to make small repairs to many fire rated assemblies. Consult the Gypsum Association Repair of Fire-Rated Gypsum Panel Product Systems (GA-225-2019) for more detailed information on how to repair fire rated assemblies.
